What Are Resin Drives?

Resin Drives are created when kiln dried aggregates are combined and fully covered in polyurethane resin. They are then trowelled down on to suitable base, usually concrete or tarmac. The base is must be solid with no movement or cracks in order for resin bound to last.

Once the resin bound aggregates have set a hard wearing, decorative surface is left. The specification of your project will help determine which resin bound aggregates are suited and also what depth the resin paving should be laid.

Resin bound gravel acts as natural water drainage and so water channels through the resin eliminating puddles on the drive. They are therefore a perfect solution for those winter months when it’s wet and surface puddles can freeze, causing hazards. Resin bound surfacing is environmentally friendly.

The Installation Process For Resin Mill Driveways

1) The resin bound colours are chosen and the design agreed with your resin driveways contractor Essex

2) A date is arranged for the installation

3) The existing surface may be excavated and a suitable sub base laid (your contractor will advise if a dig out is necessary)

4) Edging is to be laid

5) The resin is mixed with the stone on site to form the resin bound aggregate

6) It is then hand trowelled to provide a durable and seamless finish
